President Macron Appoints Head Of The Armed Forces As France’s New Prime Minister

On September 9, 2025, French President Emmanuel Macron appointed Sébastien Lecornu as the country’s new Prime Minister.

The appointment came hours after François Bayrou lost a vote of confidence in the National Assembly on September 8 and subsequently submitted his resignation.
