Congo Sentences Former President Joseph Kabila To Death In Absentia



On September 30, 2025, a military court in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), has convicted former President Joseph Kabila to death in absentia.

He ruled the Democratic Republic of Congo for 18 years, from 2001 to 2019, the verdict was pronounced after he was found guilty of treason and war crimes during his reign and beyond.
