Peru Approves Motion To Declare Mexican President “persona non grata” For Violating Her Country’s Own Foreign Policy Guideline

Peru’s Congressional Foreign Relations Commission approved Monday, September 8 2025, a motion that could declare Claudia Sheinbaum, the President of The Republic of Mexico, “persona non grata” in Peru, for her recent public statements in favor of former Peruvian President Pedro Castillo, accused of attempting a self-coup in 2022 to desert office.
